The Tax Office has announced that it will conduct an ongoing share market transaction data matching program.

Just as financial institutions provide the Tax Office with interest paid, the share registers of public companies provide dividend and disposal particulars.

The program will focus on the income tax obligations of taxpayers in relation to the disposal of shares and the declaration of capital gains (or losses).
